About the teacher…

Ilona Wright is pleased to be able to share the joy of early music education with
her community because she herself has experienced its many benefits.

Ilona started playing the piano when she was six, later learning to play the violin, guitar, and saxophone.

Ilona has a passion for singing, and has extensive performance experience. As well as performing in school choirs and the Melbourne chorale, she was a member of the a-capella group 'Cabernet'. She also regularly performs with the Melbourne Community Gamelan and is the Gamelan ensemble teacher at Melbourne University.

These early experiences formed the foundation for a love of music and learning that have stayed with her all her life.

She is a trained and licensed Kindermusik educator and received her Bachelor of Education degree from Melbourne University.

You can find her teaching piano at Camelot Rise Primary School in Vermont South as well as a few private students in the evenings at her home. She lives in Wantirna with her husband Elton and two young sons, Justin & Corey.
